Bids on a new public safety building were approved by the City Council Monday night on a 4-3 vote.
Mayor Joel Beckman joined council Members Mark Spence, Mary Lou Waltman and Randy Klipfel in approving the bids. Council members Russell Boe, Andru Peters and Greg Schreck voted against.
The bids came in $39,000 over the pre-bid estimates of $2.75 million. Additional “soft costs,” for furnishings and equipment, are expected to bring the total cost to $3.5 million.
