Census shows city grows

Lake City added 189, or about 3.7%, to its population between the 2010 and 2020 census, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Meanwhile, Wabasha County and many townships in the area lost population.

Lake City Planning and Community Development Director Megan Smith included the city’s population and other census information in the city council Nov. 8 meeting agenda packet.

For context, she also included data for cities of similar size.

Lake City trailed all but one in terms of overall population growth.
