Changing operations at city compost site

Lake City residents will no longer need a sticker on their vehicle to drop off leaves, brush, and lawn clippings at the city’s compost site off Goodhue County Road 5 on Territorial Road, which is expected to open April 1.

The city began requiring stickers for drop-offs a few years ago in an effort to ensure that the people using the site were either residents (who pay a monthly fee with their utility bill for the service) or—in the case of non-residents and commercial users—purchasing stickers.
