City announces utility rebates open house

Even as Lake City Public Library grew from 4,800 to 6,800 square feet, it saw its utility bills dip by 30 percent, according to Lake City Public Library Administrator Patti Bross.

That’s thanks to energy-efficient lighting and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems installed as part of the library renovation project.

“It’s pretty exciting that we could do that,” Bross said. “I think it’s good that the community knows we’re trying to be mindful with their money.”
