City bid for Hearth and Home expansion includes over $2 million in TIF financing

The Lake City City Council Monday approved a tax increment financing (TIF) package worth over $2.3 million in an effort to pursuade Hearth and Home Technologies (HHT) to expand operations here rather than in Iowa or Pennsylvania.

HHT is proposing to add 150,000 square feet to its 100,000 square foot facility west of the railroad tracks at the corner of North 10th Street and Monroe Street, according to materials presented to the council in March.
