City receives grant for commercial, residential property rehabilitation

Lake City has received one of 35 grants from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) totaling more than $19 million for rehabilitation and infrastructure projects in Greater Minnesota.

Lake City will receive $809,400 for owner-occupied housing rehabilitation and commercial building rehabilitation.

Southeastern Minnesota Multi-County Housing and Redevelopment Authority applied for the grant on the city’s behalf.

The City Council had previously agreed to reimburse $5,000 in application costs.
