City, school approve 2020 levies

The City of Lake City and Lake City Public Schools have approved their levies for 2020.

The city’s levy is increasing 3.54 percent, the school district levy is going up 2 percent.

During a Truth in Taxation meeting Dec. 13, City Finance Director Amy Hove said that even though the levy is increasing, the tax rate in Lake City is dropping. That means that unless they have a value or classification change, residents should see a decrease on their city property taxes.
