Council approves new fire truck

The Lake City City Council on June 14 approved the lease and eventual purchase of a new fire truck to replace Engine No. 10.
The approval follows the council decision a month earlier to allow the fire department to design, spec, and bid a new truck after hearing from Fire Dept. Chief Dan Patterson about the maintenance costs and unreliability of Engine No. 10, which was built in 1985.
