Council approves Ohuta Park retaining wall

In a 4-2 vote at an Oct. 21 special meeting, the Lake City City Council chose a design for the Ohuta Park seawall and awarded a construction contract to ICON Constructors LLC for $1,189,629.
ICON’s was the lowest of six bids received for the project.
The chosen design has about 150 more feet of concrete facing and cement cap, but otherwise it matches the less expensive of the two options presented to the council at its regular Oct. 14 meeting.
