Council declines to fully fund dog park in 2023

The Lake City City Council on Monday, Dec. 12, declined to act on a request from a local group to fully fund the construction of a dog park in Lake City in 2023.

In response to a cost estimate of $18,000 earlier this year, the council put $9,000 in the budget that the group could match through fundraising. That offer is still on the table, but representatives of the group have said they’d like the council to fund the entire amount so that private fundraising can focus on things like benches and park amenities.
