Council looks at highway project traffic changes

The Lake City City Council on Jan. 13 tabled one proposed traffic change in Lake City during the upcoming highway construction and approved another on a split vote.

They tabled the temporary closure of a block of South High Street beginning at Lakewood Avenue and extending one block north, which would remove a conflict point at that intersection and discourage people from trying short-cut the detour, according to city staff. Local traffic would continue to be able to use the street.
