Council moves toward ladder truck replacement

In a special meeting Nov. 26, the Lake City City Council reached consensus that the city’s 26-year-old ladder truck should be replaced ahead of the 2022 date set out in the city’s current capital budget. The question now is how to pay for it.

The city purchased the 75-foot ladder truck used in 2002. It was built in 1992.

Maintenance on the truck is growing more and more costly, according to the fire department.
