County board strikes down mask mandate for county buildings

At their regular meeting on Aug. 17, the Wabasha County Board of Commissioners voted 3-2 to remove the mandate requiring masks in county buildings by employees or visitors.

This action by the board removes the mandate that had been put in place on August 5 by County Administrator Michael Plante and Public Health Director Tammy Fiedler with input by Human Resources Director Shawn Huth. The county board was not present when the mask mandate had been put in place on Aug. 5.
