Court certifies class action status for Wabasha County safe driving class suit

An effort by participants in the Wabasha County safe driving class to recover fees paid to attend the class will continue.

On Feb. 18, Wabasha County District Court certified the creation of four classes of plaintiffs and appointed the law firm Mohrman, Kaardal and Erickson to represent the classes.

The classes represent the four government entities who referred recipients of minor traffic citations to the Wabasha County-operated class -- the cities of Wabasha, Lake City and Plainview, as well as the county itself.
