Crossings to close for railroad track work

Signage has appeared at the Lyon Avenue (Hwy. 63) railroad crossing bearing the words “Road Closed Beginning July 11.”

Mitchell Rigelman, the City of Lake City interim public works director, said the sign “is related to upcoming railroad crossing work by CPKC (Railroad). They’re planning to close several crossings in Lake City as part of a tie renewal project, which includes temporary closures at Sportsman Drive, Monroe Street, and others.
