Goodhue County sheriff-elect names chief deputy

The Goodhue County Board approved Sheriff-elect Marty Kelly’s choice for his chief deputy: Jeremy Lerfald.

Both men attended the Tuesday, Nov. 20, meeting.

According to a letter Kelly wrote to the board, Lerfald has 23 years of experience in law enforcement. Currently, Lerfald serves in the Lakeville Police Department.

Kelly wrote that Lerfald “has experience in investigations, drug task force, SWAT, field training, school liaison and background investigator.”
