Hearing held on proposed swine facility in Goodhue County

Barn would house 2,410 animal units

A public hearing was held on Monday, February 13 in Red Wing to discuss a proposed hog confinement facility being requested by  Circle K Family Farms, owned by Mike, Yon and Jeff Kohlnhofer. The applicants are proposing to construct a swine finishing barn that would be located at the corner of County 42 Blvd. and County 4 Blvd. It would house 2,410 animal units of swine, which is equivalent to 4,700 hogs, ranging in size from 55 to 300 pounds.

As people entered the court room to attend the Public Hearing, they were given the option to speak.
