Heavy Lifting: 2,500 go to first Junk Crush to look, buy, enjoy

Some of the people who took in Lake City’s first Junk Crush Saturday and Sunday had some work to do when they left.

They had to haul their newly discovered treasures, including old doors and storm windows, at least one cradle, a bedroom dresser and other furniture back to a vehicle to haul them home.

Under nearly ideal sunny sky and moderate temperatures in the 70s, people shopped at 37 “junk” booths, enjoyed wine from area wineries and heard pep talks from junk market guru Sue Whitney.
