Hok-Si-La bypass lane approved

One Hok-Si-La Park entrance from Highway 61 will get a bypass lane when that stretch of highway is resurfaced in 2019. The other will not.

Lake City City Councilmembers voted 4-2 to fund a bypass lane for the park’s main entrance. The cost is estimated to be about $45,000.

A vote on a motion to add a similar lane to the entrance to the Hok-Si-La boat launch failed.

Right now, southbound traffic turning left into the park blocks the lane of traffic if there is traffic in the northbound lane.
