Home building picks up in Lake City

After a decade-long slump, home-building activity in Lake City rebounded this year.

The city has issued building permits for 21 singe-family dwellings so far this year.

“This is huge because it shows that we’ve had the most home starts since 2006,” said Megan Smith, planning and community development director for the City of Lake City.
