House passes Lake City port authority bill

By a vote of 121-10, legislation enabling the City of Lake City to establish a port authority passed in the Minnesota House of Representatives on May 14.

The Minnesota Senate passed identical language 66-0 on March 4.

Rep. Barb Haley, the author of the House version of the bill, said the passed bill first goes to the Minnesota Revisor of Statues, then it’s on to the governor, who has three days to sign it.

She expected Gov. Tim Walz to sign it by Wednesday morning.
