Injury accident and a new stop sign on South High Street

A collision between a car and a motorcycle left one person hospitalized on July 4, according to Lake City Police.

The accident occurred in the 300 block of South High Street.

A passenger on the motorcycle was transported to the hospital by ambulance, police said.

Not long after, stop signs arrived at the corner of Dwelle Street and High Street nearby.

City Public Works Director Scott Jensen said the signs were in response to a call from a local business and another about the accident.
