Internal candidate selected after ‘extensive’ search for assistant ambulance director

The Lake City City Council voted unanimously at its June meeting to hire Robert Benson as the city’s first assistant ambulance director.
“The purpose of the role is to provide operational support to the ambulance staff as the front line supervisor, and also provide support for me for administrative duties throughout the day, but particularly in my absence or when I am on vacation,” Lake City Ambulance Director Sarah Rybarczyk said.
