Investigation clears police chief

Lake City Police Chief Cory Kubista will not face disciplinary action following an investigation of a complaint lodged against him, City Administrator Mark Sievert said April 27.

The city first acknowledged the existence of the complaint and investigation on April 12.

Sievert said Thursday that in order to maintain objectivity, an outside law firm was hired to investigate the complaint.

Mary Dobbins of the law firm Landrum Dobbins conducted interviews and reviewed documents related to the complaint independent of any direction from City Hall, according to Sievert.
