Lake City’s preliminary tax levy up 7%
The Lake City City Council approved a preliminary property tax levy increase of 7% and a corresponding 2025 budget at its Sept. 8 meeting.
The breakdown of the $5,267,106 proposed levy is as follows: General Fund - $3,825,991, Library Fund - $195,225, Capital Project Fund - $715,813, 2021A Street Reconstruction Bonds - $204,980, 2018A Street Reconstruction Bonds - $97,440; 2023A Street Reconstruction Bonds - $145,950, and Port Authority Fund - $81,707.
Overall the city budget anticipates revenues of $8,582,709 and expenditures of $8,275,209.
