Lake City council on board with possible Hearth and Home expansion

The City Council on Monday night gave two indications it is behind a possible expansion of the Hearth and Home Technologies facility in Lake City.

Hearth and Home will find out perhaps in a couple of weeks if it can go ahead with the expansion, said Lake City Economic Development Authority Executive Director Elliot Culp.

If the company gets the green light, the city and state will be ready.

The council signed on to a state job-creation subsidy program that would cover $400,000 of the expansion cost, according to Culp. The state program requires local support.
