Lake City sets 2021 levy, budget

The City of Lake City property tax levy increase for 2021 will remain 3.5 percent.

On Dec. 14, the Lake City City Council unanimously approved the levy amount and a corresponding budget for next year.

The levy increases 3.5 percent to $3,712,327. About $2.9 million will go into the city’s general fund. The Lake City Public Library will receive about $134,000, and the Lake City Economic Development Authority will receive just over $72,000. The remainder of the levy is debt service, primarily for street construction bonds.
