Lake City's ambulance director resigns

The director of Lake City’s ambulance service abruptly resigned this week.
The City Council accepted Gail Riemersma’s resignation, effective Feb. 13, at its Feb. 13 meeting.
The council added the item to the consent agenda at the beginning of the meeting. At the same time, the council removed an item calling for a “potential closed session” for “preliminary consideration of allegations or charges against the Ambulance Director of the City’s Ambulance Service.”
