Large power outage reported

A power outage affected some customers of Lake City Public Utilities on Jan. 2.
“We did have a large outage,” City of Lake City Public Works Director Scott Jensen said that day. “We believe it is in a portion of the overhead distribution system that is exposing a weak spot with colder temperatures and moisture. Following the first inspection, and finding no obvious issues, the electric crew re-energized the line and everything has held.”
