Local market now offers EBT food purchases

Lake City’s Thursday Market has a new look this year: more advertising,  more visitors, more reasons to come, more fun to be had.

“We are much encouraged by the great start we are seeing,” said John Marshall, a member of the market committee.

There’s another new program offered at Thursday’s market.  The market now accepts EBT or the Electronic Benefits Transfer program which is a debit card available to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program participants.  It can only be used to buy food and is very efficient and secure as well.
