Longtime resident Kristi Gross becomes city planning director

“I love planning, and now I get to do what I love in the city I love,” said Kristi Gross, Lake City’s new Planning and Community Development director.

Gross, who’s lived in Lake City for 20 years, fills the position vacated by Megan Smith in July. Her first day at the city was Sept. 30.

Gross worked for 11 years at Goodhue County in its land use management department before taking a job at what was then a joint planning department shared by the City of Rochester and Olmsted County.
