Many townships to hold elections, annual meetings on March 9

On Tuesday, March 9, Minnesota’s 1,781 townships will hold annual meetings on what the Minnesota Association of Townships (MAT) promotes as “Township Day.” Many will hold elections as well.

“Local government is alive and well at the grassroots level in townships,” the news release quotes MAT Board Chair Gary Burdorf as saying. “Voters will choose new officers, and dedicated election judges will carry out thes COVID-safe elections. Township discussions on the annual tax levy give folks direct access to democracy.”
