MnDOT: New 60 mph speed limit on Hwy. 247

Motorists using Highway 247 from Highway 63 to Plainview in Olmsted and Wabasha counties will see speed limits raised to 60 mph where the previous posted limit was 55 mph on the two-lane roadway, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT).
The reduced speed zone in Potsdam in Olmsted County will not be increased as part of the changes on this 12-mile stretch of state highway. The speed limits become official once the new signs are in place. Crews expect to post the signs later this week, weather permitting.
