New shop is owner's fun daytime getaway
Darla Meyer’s day job is really a night job. She cleans during the night.
She runs D and M Cleaning, a commercial company that does overnight commercial cleaning for several businesses in the Rochester area. The company employs between five and 20 people depending on demand.
That leaves her daytimes free for fun, and her idea of fun is running a shop that offers fun stuff.
Darla opened The Yippie Hippie Shop at 106 E. Lyon Ave. in Lake City a month ago.
The theme of the shop, its whole purpose in fact, is fun, she said.
