North 7th Street rebuild nearing completion

The multi-million dollar rebuild of North 7th Street between Monroe Street and Grant Street is close to being “substantially complete,” according to a project update email from the city’s engineering firm, Bolton and Menk.

Construction on the project began in May. It included “new street construction, an updated drainage system, and the addition of a trail on the east side of the road,” according to the project website.

Non-local traffic along the stretch was detoured onto North 10th Street.

The estimated cost was about $3.5 million.
