Northfield man hit by train and lives

A 21-year-old Northfield man had “serious but non-life-threatening injuries” after being hit by a train in Lake City early Sunday Morning.

According to Lake City police, a call reporting a person hit by a train near the W. Lakewood Avenue Crossing came in at 2:20 a.m. on Sunday, June 30.

Police found the man “laying next to the tracks with an eastbound train stopped on the tracks,” the police said in a news release. He was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Lake City.
