Mayo Clinic Health System in Lake City and its nurses union have a new contract.
The nurses voted to ratify the new contract on March 15, said Kathy McQuillan of the Minnesota Nurses Association.
The contract does not include a staffing provision sought by the nurses that became a centerpiece of a public awareness campaign by nurses over the course of negotiations.
The union wanted the contract to include a commitment from Mayo to have two trained emergency department (ED) nurses on staff at all times.
