Ohuta bid lower than expected

In a break from recent city projects that have seen bids come in higher than anticipated, the Lake City City Council got some good news at its Monday meeting.

City officials opened bids for two large projects March 4.

One was the largest piece of the Ohuta Park redevelopment project. Expected to cost $2.8 million, the low bid was less than $2.3 million, more than a half million under projections.

A city streets project expected to cost $850,000 came in slightly under that at $845,000.
