Open swim uncertain

O’Neil Community Swimming Pool is set to open again this summer after remaining closed all last year because of concerns related to COVID-19, but it won’t be a return to normal.

City staff reported to the Lake City City Council at its May meeting that a shortage of lifeguards could mean the pool would only operate for morning lap swim, swimming lessons, and water aerobics. Open swim didn’t make the list.
