Pearl of the Lake sold to Florida company

After 17 seasons on Lake Pepin, the Pearl of the Lake paddlewheel boat is saying bon voyage to Lake City.

Larry Nielson, who owned and captained the boat, announced last week that the excursion boat had been sold to Toho Riverboat Adventures and would be relocating to St. Cloud, Fla.

“We really enjoyed sharing the beauty of Lake Pepin with people over the past 17 years and appreciate all the support we received from throughout the region,” Nielson said in a news release.
