Pickup goes through ice near Old Frontenac

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office is reminding people that no ice is always safe after a pickup truck went through the Lake Pepin ice near Methodist beach in Frontenac.

According to a sheriff’s office Facebook post, a sheriff’s office airboat happened to be in the area when the call came in at about 11 a.m. that day.

The lone occupant of the vehicle was able to escape uninjured before deputies arrived.
