Port authority vote could come soon

A bill that would allow Lake City to establish a port authority could be on the verge of becoming law.

The state senate already passed the bill unanimously and two state house of representatives committees have voted their approval, according to State Rep. Barb Haley, who authored the bill in the house. (Sen. Mike Goggin authored its senate counterpart.)

It’s now a stand-alone bill ready to come to the house floor for a vote.
