Lake City Public School’s property tax might differ from what residents see on their tax statements.
At a special meeting on Sept. 25 the school board voted 5-0 to set the levy at the maximum and to add $200 per pupil unit of local option revenue.
The state has offered districts the opportunity to levy for additional money for several years, but Lake City has declined to do so until now. The local option revenue adds up to about $240,000 per year, according to Supt. Erick Enger.
