School board raises substitute teacher pay

Amid a shortage of substitute teachers, the Lake City School Board has approved an increase to the daily rate it pays subs.
Up to Nov. 16, the district was paying subs $120 per day. On Nov. 16, that increased to $170 per day, effective through the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
Bluff View Principal Jim Borgschatz said the “increase was needed to stay competitive with other schools. All schools are in the same shortage.”
