School district open to running summer rec
Lake City Public Schools will continue to look into the possibility of taking over the operation of a summer recreation program from the City of Lake City, possibly as soon as next year.
The city has operated a children’s summer recreation program for decades but began to look for an exit in the last few years, with some success.
A few years ago the city collaborated with the school district to allow online registration from summer rec activities for the first time.
