School votes to take on summer recreation

The City of Lake City’s days of actively managing children’s summer activities through a summer recreation program may be coming to an end.

At its December meeting, the Lake City School Board approved a contract between the city and the school district that would see the school district take over the programming.

City Administrator Rob Keehn said the issue will go before the City Council on Jan. 10, and that the council has been supportive of the transfer.
