Site of vacant building to become Marine Center lot

Another downtown Lake City building is slated for demolition.

On March 9 the Lake City City Council unanimously approved a conditional use permit for Marine Center owner James Kranz to put a parking lot at 122 North Washington Street, just across the street from his business. Council Member Phil Gartner abstained because Kranz is a client of his law firm.

The lot will primarily store boats before and after they are serviced by Marine Center, according to the city council agenda, and reduce the need to park boats on the street.
