Solving the marina beach puzzle

Lake City City Administrator Rob Keehn presented a concept for a four-season beach house to the City Council at a council workshop on Feb. 11.

The council voted in 2018 to demolish the old beach house and replace it with a four-season structure. They charged Keehn with developing a plan for the beach house and the marina beach area as a whole.

But a four-season beach house would have to be constructed out of the flood plain, leaving the city to consider a few options that each come with drawbacks.
