Teen tobacco use on the rise thanks to vaping

For the first time in 17 years, tobacco use is on the rise among our youth. An astonishing 26 percent of high-school students reported using tobacco products in the past 30 days. This is almost a 50 percent increase since 2014. The increase is attributed to battery powered devices that allow users to inhale, or “vape” a flavored aerosol, almost all of which contain nicotine.
