Tire explosion leaves one dead, one hospitalized
A tire explosion in rural Lake City June 24 fatally wounded one person and caused another to be hospitalized according to the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office.
“Today our deputies and emergency responders were sent to rural Lake City on a call of a tire exploding while being worked on. 34 year old Joshua Moechnig Jr. was pronounced deceased on the scene,” the Sheriff's Office said in a June 24 news release. “His father, Joshua Moechnig Sr. was transported to St. Marys with injuries to his face.
“Our sympathies go out to the Moechnig family.”
